One day two men were walking through the desert. They had an argument, and the first man slapped the second one in the face. The second man was hurt, then he wrote in the sand : “Today my best friend slapped me in the face.”
They kept on walking until they found an oasis. The second man got stuck in the mire. He started drowning, but the first man saved him. Then, he wrote on a stone : “Today my best friend saved my life.”
The first man asked the second one why he did it. The second man replied : ”When some one hurt us, we should write it down on sand where the wind of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it on a stone where no wind can ever erase it.”
